The Airback Spinal System

The Airback Spinal System from Orthomerica enables precise fitting with prefabricated, custom-to-cast spinal shells. The unique, patented pneumatic posterior bladder design reduces pressure on the spine and avoids direct contact with the incision site when used postoperatively.  

The adjustable bladder reduces/eliminates pressure on incision, while the perforated lightweight design aids in patient compliance. Twelve bilateral air chambers offer stability and comfort for many lower back pathologies. 

The brace minimises excessive pelvic tilt, spinal rotation, lateral bending and forward flexion and the pneumatic control hydraulically relieves pressure on the lower spine for maximum support, and comfort. The brace features injection moulded buckles and chafes to aid in donning and doffing.

Available as an LSO or TLSO with optional padded thoracic component, adjustable in height and can be angled for comfortable and effective positioning against the sternum. 

SOFT SPINAL SYSTEM

The California Soft Spinal System from Orthomerica is a modular spinal orthosis with rigid components inside a soft and comfortable interface. A supportive, time-efficient and comfortable alternative to hard-shell custom spinal systems.

Lateral stabilising supports that attach with hook and loop fastenings are also available when more control of lateral flexion and rotation is required. The anterior and posterior ABD modular components can be heated and flared to provide a more intimate fit.

a-FLEX HELMET

The A-Flex Plus Protective Headgear from Orthomerica is a flexible, adjustable protective helmet designed as an alternative to traditional hard protective devices. This helmet is made from a flexible plastic material that easily conforms to different head shapes, making it simple to customise for each individual.

The headgear provides protection against low-impact forces by distributing them across the entire surface, acting as a shock absorber and minimizing the risk of cracking or penetration. It comes with chin straps that are recommended for active and non-compliant patients. The posterior strap securely holds the device below the occiput and mastoids, accommodating different head sizes, while the lateral straps allow for easy application and removal.

Additionally, the A-Flex Plus features ventilation holes to enhance air circulation and cooling by reducing trapped heat. It can also be easily trimmed using a pair of heavy-duty scissors, eliminating the need for complex equipment and tools.

The Orthomerica Newport® Junior Hip Brace with Virtual® Paediatric Joint enhances hip stability by supporting and positioning the hips in optimal alignment while allowing a controlled range of motion. A universal pelvic module with bilateral thigh cuffs and washable CoolFoam™ liners. A comfortable lumbar pad and the anatomical design captures and stabilises the pelvis. 

The hip orthosis can be used postoperatively to maintain the corrected surgical position or to maximise function during activities of daily living. Improved alignment through the hip encourages appropriate acetabular and femoral modelling and reduces the tendency for subluxation and dislocation.

The anatomical design captures and stabilises the pelvis, while the Virtual® Paediatric Joint is the smallest and lightest hip joint available with adjustable control of flexion, extension, abduction and adduction. The curved proximal joint attachments provide clearance over the incision and trochanter.

Designed to provide rigidity similar to that provided by a hip spica cast, the Newport® Junior with abduction bar is the perfect postoperative orthotic choice. A dual sliding bar design where one bar is slotted for maximum adjustability and the other has pre-drilled holes for stable fixation. Adjustable for up to 30° of abduction on each side.

The Newport 3 uses a unique patented disc technology adjusts easily for hip development. The unique pivotal design allows components to move freely during the fitting process. Once the optimum position has been determined, the components are locked into place by tightening the two locking discs. There is a long trochanteric extension on the involved side. 

The California Hip system is a comfortable, total-contact reinforced mesh pelvic component based on the popular California Compression Orthosis supports the back and aligns pelvis and hip joint.

Hip joint settings provide a strong flexion/ extension stop with mild, adjustable resistance to adduction.

The Newport 4 has a low-profile design to improve patient comfort and compliance with a padded posterior section for enhanced comfort and improved lordotic fit. No proximal/medial plastic on thigh component to interfere with hygiene. The thigh component design adjusts with clamping disc to accommodate varying shapes and to prevent knee flexion impingement.
