Description
The paediatric Adjustable Hip Abduction Splint from Orthomerica is an adjustable hip abduction brace which maintains the concentric reduction of hips in infants with hip dysplasia. Indicated for infants and young children with subluxed hips or to prevent subluxation and dislocation.
The adjustable design offers the advantage of abduction adjustment over the standard paediatric hip splint. The lightweight splint can replace spica casts and harnesses for certain developmental dysplasia patients and has more total contact than a pavlik harness.
Designed with a sturdy polypropylene frame set in a 90° hip flexion with abduction easily adjustable to 40° through 180° by the aluminium slotted screw assembly. The brace fits infants from 3 months (6-12 lbs.) to 18 months (over 30 lbs.). X-Large size effective for certain cerebral palsy patients.
