DARCO PegAssist Insole | Off-Loading for DARCO Shoes

The DARCO PegAssist® Insole System offers an effective and economical solution for off-loading pressure from any area of the plantar surface of the foot. Built around a versatile removable-peg insole, it is ideal for use after surgery or when wounds, lesions or pressure points are present. By selectively removing pegs, pressure can be relieved from specific areas, helping to support wound healing and manage pain.

The system is suitable for both men’s and women’s versions of the DARCO MedSurg® and Relief Dual® shoes, while the Uni PegAssist® Insole version is compatible with the HeelWedge®, OrthoWedge® and All Purpose Boot®.

Designed for either foot, the insole provides short-term pain relief for conditions such as prominent metatarsal heads or other structural abnormalities that may later require surgical correction.

Made from an 18mm combination of Plastazote®, Poron® and multi-foam, the insole provides an ideal balance of shock absorption and mouldability. After peg removal, the Poron® top layer remains intact to prevent ring oedema and maintain support around the off-loaded area. A Peg Stabiliser Board on the underside of the insole prevents the remaining pegs from collapsing and ensures the integrity of the off-loading area is maintained.

The PegAssist® System enables pressure reduction of up to 50%, allowing the patient to stay mobile during acute treatment. A removable toe cover helps keep the forefoot clean, dry and protected from debris.
