CNC CUTTING TECHNOLOGY: A Leap Toward Precision & Efficiency 

A key milestone in our digital transformation project was the successful installation of the Zünd G3 L-2500, a state-of-the-art CNC cutting system that has revolutionised our approach to manufacturing. This advanced technology allows us to fully embrace digital workflows, seamlessly integrating them into our existing processes while providing opportunities for workforce development and new job creation. The shift towards digital manufacturing has not only upskilled our experienced team but also opened the door for future innovations. 

The Zünd G3 L-2500 works in tandem with our traditional clicker press cutting solution, blending heritage manufacturing techniques with modern digital precision. This hybrid approach ensures that we can meet the diverse needs of our customers, efficiently allocating product ranges to the most suitable method based on factors like volume, design complexity, material properties, and other production requirements. The harmonious integration of both technologies ensures we remain agile and responsive to customer demands. 

Transitioning from the manual clicker press to the precision of CNC cutting for mass production has already led to substantial gains in both speed and product quality. The shift to digital file formats has streamlined workflows, eliminating time-consuming manual adjustments, improving accuracy, and significantly reducing material wastage. This results in a faster production cycle, fewer errors, and a more sustainable operation.

CNC SEWING: Redefining Craftsmanship with Automation

Our collaboration with Made Smarter has played a pivotal role in shaping our digital transformation strategy, and a key outcome of this partnership has been the acquisition of two CNC sewing machines. These machines represent a significant leap forward in automation, offering an innovative 2D sewing process powered by Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software. 


By integrating CAM technology, we have digitized traditional sewing templates, giving us the capability to re-engineer soft goods with remarkable precision and consistency. Initially, this cutting-edge sewing technology has been deployed for the production of wrist braces, one of our most in-demand product lines. The results have been transformative—production cycles have been reduced by an impressive 75% while ensuring that quality remains consistently high across every unit.

The automated process ensures uniform stitching and repeatable precision, which is particularly valuable for high-volume orders where maintaining strict quality standards is critical. IMPROVING TECHNOLOGIES: Investing in Innovation for Every Stage of Production

 Beyond CNC cutting and sewing, we have expanded our investment in innovative technologies across multiple facets of our production line. Most notably, we have recently introduced a laser cutters specifically designed for cutting hook & loop and webbing components. This technology offers unrivalled accuracy, allowing for intricate designs and complex shaping with consistent, high-quality results. 

One of the key advantages of the laser cutter is its ability to heat-seal cut edges, eliminating the issue of fraying—a common challenge in textile production. This not only improves the quality of the final product but also enhances durability. Furthermore, the laser cutting process is faster and more flexible, as it requires no tooling, making it ideal for rapid prototyping and adjusting designs on the fly. 

Additionally, we have enhanced our sewing capabilities with the recent acquisition of high-performance industrial sewing machines. These machines are known for their durability, precision, and reliability, further reinforcing our ability to produce high-quality orthopaedic bracing products. This investment reflects our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship while embracing advanced technologies.
