On the 1st and 2nd of November, we exhibited at the East Midlands Spinal Network and the Critical Care Annual Conference 2023
On Wednesday 1st November we exhibited at the East Midlands Spinal Network Annual Conference 2023 ‘Beyond the Thunder dome’, an opportunity to showcase service improvements in spinal care across the region.
Our North West, North East and Southern Ireland Area Sales Manager, Andrew Padmore exhibited at the spinal conference. Our new Breg Spinal Range was a success and attendees of the conference were able to try on the collars, CTOs and TLSO braces and ask any questions about the product range.
The event took place at the Derby County Football Club, a professional football club situated in Derby. With a capacity of 33,597, Pride Park Stadium is the 20th-largest stadium in the United Kingdom. The stadium has excellent facilities for conferences and events and with its excellent location just walking distance away from Derby Railway station and the M1, the impressive stadium was an ideal setting for two days of conferences.
The conference agenda was packed full of interesting and informative talks from a wide range of influential people in the spinal industry. Martin Mauracheea, who recently attended our Second Spinal Education Day, provided opening remarks to welcome attendees to the conference. Followed by Network Medical Lead and one of the UK’s leading spinal surgeons, Mr Wai Yoon.
Regional Spinal Cord Injury Clinical Lead, Michelle Emsley, presented an interesting spinal cord injury model of care presentation. Beagle has held two Spinal Education Days in 2023 and Michelle was a guest speaker at both days. Read more.
The day continued with talks from Queens Medical Centre Consultant Spinal Surgeon, Shakil Patel Consultant Spine Surgeon, Nasir Quraishi and many more!
On Thursday 2nd November we exhibited at the East Midlands Critical Care Annual Conference 2023 ‘Collaborating for Success: Navigating the Road Ahead’, an opportunity to showcase Critical Care services and how collaboration impacts us all.
The event also took place at the Derby County Football Club and we showcased our new Breg Spinal Range, consisting of cervical collars, CTOs and TLSOs. The event brought a good number of attendees who were from a range of backgrounds, including Critical Care Doctors, Therapists, Operating Department Practitioners, Nurses, Allied Health Professionals and Critical Care staff within the network.
Similarly to the Spinal Network Annual Conference, Critical Care had a lot to offer! A busy agenda featuring several talks from a varied range of guest speakers about a selection of different topics in critical care.
Dr Adam Wolverson, Network Medical Lead and ICU Consultant opened the conference followed by keynote speaker Denise Guzdz from Sherwood Forest NHS Trust. Many more speakers were invited on stage to discuss critical care into the afternoon. The speakers varied in their background, their location and choice of subject to talk about. Subjects included ‘Caring for the critically ill young person’,’ Organ donation – we all have a role’ and ‘Communication – beyond the non-verbal’.
There was a variety of workshops for attendees to engage in throughout the day which was a great addition to the conference and added a more interactive element for attendees. The well-organised workshops were also varied like the guest talks earlier in the day and topics included sustainability, rehabilitation, research and much more!
The Critical Care conference concluded with an Outstanding Contribution / Special Recognition Awards Ceremony and the Chairman’s closing remarks.
